Houston approves $2B bond to renovate George R. Brown Convention Center
HOUSTON – The city council has approved $2 billion in bond financing for a major overhaul of the George R. Brown Convention Center. The bond packages total $250 million, $150 million, $1.3 billion, and $300 million. The debt will be backed by the state’s share of hotel occupancy tax revenue generated by visitors.
